AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes echo through the shadows." The plot features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden sect.
The adventure centers on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an unique katana together with several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
